New Beginnings Festival Update
With a heavy heart, we must share that the New Beginnings Festival will not be taking place as planned on January 25. We have encountered unforeseen challenges that have prevented us from delivering a meaningful event.
Our vision of celebrating community and cultural diversity remains strong. While we can't gather as we hoped this coming year, we're committed to finding new ways to bring community together to celebrate the artistic vibrancy, cultural expressions and heritage of people from our diverse communities.
To everyone who was looking forward to the festival: thank you for your understanding and continued support. We appreciate your spirit and hope.

Celebrating diversity
Sydney’s favourite multicultural event, New Beginnings Festival fosters an inclusive society that promotes equal opportunities through arts and culture.
SSI’s New Beginnings Festival lights up the Australian National Maritime Museum with a vibrant mix of world-class art, music, and dance performances, celebrating the stories of Australia’s diverse communities. This free, family-friendly festival explores themes of home, identity, and belonging, as experienced through the eyes of Australia's diverse refugee, migrant, multicultural and First Nations communities.
